The targeted and uniform cooling of the melt reduces the flow behavior of the plastic downstream of the pipe head, thus reducing the sagging effect. The uniform wall thickness reduces the pipe weight and thus raw material consumption by up to 10%. In many cases, less expensive, lower-viscosity raw materials can be used.
